Our Story
Escape to the Lake's Story
Rooted in the Land
Riverlands Farm, home to Escape to the Lake, has been an integral part of the Orgee family’s life for many years. Will Orgee grew up on the neighbouring land, learning to swim in the River Teme. At the age of 10 he secured his first job picking raspberries in the field where their home is now situated.
A Passion Takes Shape
Escape to the Lake represents the next chapter, merging our love of the land and hosting guests with a passion for nature, wellbeing, and conservation. We believe that a well-rounded life encompasses experiences, emotions, and meaningful moments. It’s why we call this way of life Wild By Nature.
Stewards of the Environment
With a strong attachment and connection with the land, we are focussed on delivering a pioneering eight-acre wetland project, along with reversion of 80 acres of flood plain organic arable land to lowland meadow. We are in the throes of replacing all fence lines with hedgerows, with an additional commitment to planting indigenous broad-leafed trees wherever appropriate.
